Why is fitness so important for my dog?
Date : 12/15/2008
Nearly 40-50% of dogs in the U.S. are overweight. SPCA studies have shown that overweight dogs are more prone to increased health problems. These include heart, respiratory and digestive impairments, and poor resistance to viral and bacterial infections, slower healing processes, and aggravated orthopedic conditions. Click here for a quick reference based on your dog’s breed.

We have a backyard and my dog runs all day, why is walking important?
Date : 12/5/2008
Proper walking enforces good manners and mental stimulation. Playing in the backyard is equivalent to a child playing in recess all day without any rules, limitations or expectations.
Dogs need proper mental stimulation to prevent boredom, excessive chewing and behavior issues. Activity keeps oxygen and other nutrients like glucose (blood sugar) at optimum levels in the brain, leading to improved brain function and an overall happier, more balanced pet.

Yes. For the safety of your pet and those who care for him, we do require your pets are current on Rabies, Distemper, Heartworm (for dogs) and that they are given some sort of flea & tick repellent. We also recommend your dog receive the Canine parvovirus (CPV) disease vaccine. Talk to your Vet for more information or questions.

Does my pet need a Hillsborough license, Micro-Chipping or any other ID tags?
Date : 9/4/2009
We think it's an excellent idea. It's up to you whether you want to get licensed or micro-chipped, but both are great ways to locate your pet should they ever become lost. Take a look at Hillsborough County Animal Services website for more information on how to get your pet licensed today. Ask your vet about micro-chipping your pet, or contact Home Again to locate a vet near you. The only thing we do ask is that your pet does have ID tags with your contact number.
